KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 20): Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd (KL:DAYANG) has contracted a unit of Shin Yang Group Bhd (KL:SYGROUP) to build a maintenance work boat for RM117.7 million.
The 91-metre vessel is expected to be delivered by January 2028, Dayang said in its filing.
Dayang said it already has the necessary internal funds to finance the deposit payment and is currently negotiating with the bank for the balance.
“The board will also carefully consider the financing terms to ensure that Dayang Group will not be burdened by any financing cost nor the repayment obligations,” it said.
The group currently has seven main vessels under operation, including six maintenance work boats and one supply vessel. Its 63.4%-owned Perdana Petroleum Bhd (KL:PERDANA) owns another 14 vessels.
Shares of Dayang settled down two sen or 1.13% at RM1.75, giving it a market capitalisation of RM2.03 billion. Shin Yang shares closed down 1.5 sen or 1.8% at 82 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM978.21 million.
