Shipbuilding Division

  • Constructed first tugboat for shipping operations.
1994

Shipping Division

  • Expanded business into cargo shipping operations, focusing on bulk cargo.
1995

Shipping Division

  • Shinline Sdn Bhd was established to serve international shipping sector to China and Japan.
1998

Shipbuilding Division

  • Exported first in-house built vessel, a landing craft to Qatar.
1999

Shipbuilding Division

  • Shin Yang Shipyard Sdn. Bhd. established.
2000

Shipping Division

  • Thailine Sdn Bhd commenced its shipping operations primarily plying on international routes.
  • Shinline was accredited with ‘International Safety Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and Pollution Prevention”
  • Shin Yang Shipping commenced to operate Container ships.
2004

Shipbuilding Division

  • Built and delivered 78m Landing Craft and 3 Patrol Tugs to UAE NAVY.
2005

Shipbuilding Division

  • Shin Yang Shipyard and Piasau Slipways received ISO 9001:2000 certification (since been revised to ISO 9001:2015)
  • Delivered first offshore vessel – 60m Anchor Handling Tug
2006

Shipping Division

  • Danum Shipping established and primarily focused on international shipping of chemicals.
  • Ventured into the Middle East market to undertake shipping activities.
  • Shin Yang FZC was incorporated in RAK as an investment holding company.
2007

Shipbuilding Division

  • Commenced shipping operations in the Middle East (Al Ghaith LLC and Marsol LLC).
  • Additional new shipyard of 193.3 acres in Kuala Baram, Miri.
  • Purchased a piece of land in Tanjung Manis, Sibu with a total land area of 214 acres for future business expansion.
  • Delivered first 75m Workboat
2008

Shipbuilding Division

  • Shin Yang Shipyard received Lloyd’s List Shipbuilding Asia Award 2007 - Finalist.

Shipping Division

  • Acquired 1st Chemical Tanker for Persian Gulf Tug & Barge and OSC Operation.
2009

Shipbuilding Division

  • Signed a 25-year lease agreement for 14.8 acres of land located in Hulayla Industrial Park, Ras Al Khaimah (“RAK”) for new shipyard in UAE.
  • Expanded into Australia, Singapore, Netherlands, Brunei, New Caledonia and the Ireland’s markets.
2010
  • Shin Yang Shipping Corporation Bhd listed in Main Board of Malaysia on June 2010.
2011

Shipbuilding Division

  • Delivered the first 130m General Cargo vessel with 13,500mt.

Shipping Division

  • Acquired first 130m General Cargo vessel with 13,500mt
2012

Shipbuilding Division

  • Successfully delivered the first 199 personnel Workboat in Malaysia comply with the code of Safety for Special Purpose Ship (SPS Code).

Shipping Division

  • Established joint venture with Sarawak Oil Palm for Tanker Business.
  • Established container ship network in all ports of East Malaysia, Port Klang, Pasir Gudang and Penang.
2013

Shipbuilding Division

  • Delivered first Navy Training Vessel to UAE.
  • Delivered first Seismic Support Vessel to Ireland.

Shipping Division

  • Acquired the forth 130m General Cargo.
  • Expanding container ship fleet servicing by added a 913 TEUs Container vessel – Danum 159 and 908 TEUs Container vessel – Danum 160.
2014

Shipbuilding Division

  • First Diesel Electric DPII PSV delivered to operator in Brunei.
  • Successfully delivered 1,800T Floating Dock to assist Ship Repair activities
  • Delivered first 75T Harbour Tug for Vale Project.

Shipping Division

  • Expanded business to Indonesia through the acquisition of Indonesian associate PT Baruna Adi Prasetya (BAP).
2015

Shipbuilding Division

  • Successfully delivered total 7 units of Habour Tug for Vale project.
  • Commenced construction of the largest Floating Dock in Malaysia with 160M and 13,000T lifting capacity.
2017

Shipbuilding Division

  • To be accepted as a member of MIDES.
  • Successfully docked and repaired the largest Navy vessel – Bunga Mas 5.by using our newly delivered 160M Floating Dock No.2.
  • Commenced to dock the second vessel from Navy , a 91m Offshore Patrol Vessel - KD Perak.

Shipping Division

  • Tied up with Northport, and Harbour-Link Group to establish a strategic alliance called The East Malaysia Network or TEAM Network.
  • Acquired a 1600 TEUs Container vessel – Danum 168.
2018

Shipbuilding Division

  • Commenced to dock 3rd Navy vessel, a 47m Fast Patrol Boat - KD GANAS.

Shipping Division

  • Acquired another 2 units of container vessels - Danum 171 (972TEU) and Danum 172 (1157 TEU) in month July and August 2018.
